In order to create your Blackboard course, you need to have a Blackboard account. (If you're not sure if you have a Blackboard account, follow these steps anyway; it will let you know if you already have an account):
To create a Blackboard course, after you have a Blackboard account:
Your students will need to be enrolled in your course. This does not happen automatically when students register for their courses. There are three ways to get your students enrolled:
Students self-enroll
This is the most common way to have your students enroll in your site.
Batch enroll
You can request a roster file from us which you can use to batch-enroll students in the course. Submit a Roster Request and we’ll send you the file with instructions.
You enroll them
The third option is for you to enroll your students one at a time.
Students who do not have a NetID must request a Guest ID account. To request the Guest ID, go to http://guestid.cit.cornell.edu/reg/register.cfm.
Please contact atc_support@cornell.edu to obtain the login information you would need to provide to the students so that they can access this form.
More information about enrolling students, assigning roles (for example, TAs), and adding and organizing course content can be found in the Getting Started guide. A full set of Blackboard documentation and training materials can be found on the Blackboard Training and Materials page.
Any regular system maintenance and server restarts for any of our services will be scheduled weekdays between 5:00 am and 7:00 am. All users should be aware that a system may become unavailable during this maintenance time.
