Faculty Support Services for Teaching with Technology

We provide instructional technology consultation, training, design and production services - to assist in choosing the best tools for instructional goals, answer technical questions, develop course projects or online courses.

• Consultation on implementing instructional technology for your course.
• Customized Training Workshops:
  staff are available for presentations about the possibilities of teaching with technology.
• Assistance with creating instructional technology course projects.
• Assistance with Writing Proposals:
  Our staff can assist faculty in writing the technical requirements of a proposal.
• Student Technology Assistant Program: STAP students are located in the Academic Technology Center and are available to come to your office to assist you.

Resources for Developing Online Courses

We provide assistance with the preparation of course content for online delivery, and assistance with the production of distance learning course sites. We can answer technical questions about how to prepare your materials for distance learning, and how to support students in a distance learning course.

• Determining technological needs to deliver course materials
  What type of course materials will be on the web site? presentations, audio or video? - Refer to resources about streaming audio & video
  How will students hand-in course assignments?
  Who will be using the online course?
  Will you need GuestID’s for non-Cornell students? Information about GuestID's
• Assistance with producing the course materials
  Scan and digitize images and text
  Prepare audio and video for web delivery
  Optimize presentations and course materials for web delivery
• Delivering the course materials on the web
  Where will your course site be hosted?
  Will you use Blackboard?
• Technical support services for online courses
  What type of online assistance will be provided?
  Where will students go with technical questions?

Maintenance Schedule

Any regular system maintenance and server restarts for any of our services will be scheduled weekdays between 5:00 am and 7:00 am. All users should be aware that a system may become unavailable during this maintenance time.
