Web Accounts for Research

Any Cornell faculty member or researcher may request a hosted web account for a research purposes.

Eligibiity Requirements for Research Accounts:

  1. The researcher's department, unit, or college cannot presently provide the resources necessary for research computing, AND
  2. The researcher cannot be affiliated with CISER (Cornell Institute for Social and Economic Research).

Users are granted accounts solely for research computing activities. These accounts are established for the current academic year and must be renewed annually. Undergraduate and graduate students requesting accounts must have a faculty sponsor.

To request a hosted web account, please complete the IT Resources Request Form.

Please allow up to 48 hours for processing.

 

Location and Hours

  • Computing and Communications Center Room 124 Garden Ave.
  • Open Monday-Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM during the academic year
  • Closed on university holidays

Maintenance Schedule

Any regular system maintenance and server restarts for any of our services will be scheduled weekdays between 5:00 am and 7:00 am. All users should be aware that a system may become unavailable during this maintenance time.
