Guidelines for CIT’s Course Technology Services

Faculty, instructors, or staff currently employed by Cornell University may apply for accounts for course technology services for instructional and research purposes. Currently-enrolled Cornell students may request student accounts for web-based course assignments. Student accounts are active for one semester.

  • User accounts on course technology systems, such as Blackboard, the instructional web server or the audio-video streaming server may be used only for course or research-related activities.
  • For those who qualify, user accounts are available, at no charge, to the individual or to the department/unit with which that person is affiliated.
  • Accounts cannot be used directly or indirectly for monetary gain.
  • Accounts may not be shared by anyone else, regardless of whether or not the individuals are members of the Cornell community.
